A New Jersey Transit bus driver has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a passenger and restraining him in a chokehold during a violent altercation that was captured on video.
During the bus ride, the passenger reportedly spat on the driver, leading to the incident.
According to ‘RLS Media,’ Toron Walker, the bus driver, was apprehended after a violent altercation on a crowded bus in Newark on Friday afternoon.
According to the’reports’, before the altercation, Walker can be heard instructing passengers to relocate to the rear of the bus.
Terrified passengers pleaded with Walker to stop as he allegedly placed the man in a chokehold.
According to Newark’s Department of Public Safety, when police arrived at the scene at Court Street near Broad Street, they discovered Walker still attacking the passenger.

The police reported that Walker and the passenger were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Fortunately, the passenger did not suffer any significant injuries.
NJ Transit responded to the incident by releasing a statement.
