The unemployment rate in Minnesota experienced an increase last month, according to ABC 6 News.
The number of unemployed individuals in the state saw an increase of over 3% from June to July, according to the Department of Employment and Economic Development.
According to officials, while the state experienced a slight decline in employment, employers managed to create over 1,000 new jobs. Additionally, the labor force witnessed a decrease of over 2,000 individuals.
Despite this, Minnesota’s unemployment rate remains lower than the national average, which currently stands at 4.3%.
Iowa’s unemployment rate remained stable at 2.8% in June, even though employers have eliminated over 21,000 jobs in the past year, including 2,800 in June alone.
John Deere in Iowa has recently undergone a series of layoffs, resulting in over 1,000 workers being let go. On the other hand, the education and health services sector has experienced significant job growth, with a noteworthy addition of 10,000 jobs in the past year.
