The Kansas City Police Department has released the names of the three individuals who tragically lost their lives in a devastating multi-car crash that occurred on Tuesday, August 13 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) reported that three individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident at the intersection of 35th Street and Norton Avenue. The victims were identified as 16-year-old Donelle Morris, 37-year-old Reginald Smith, and 32-year-old Myesha S. Gentry. The collision involved a stolen Kia, adding to the severity of the incident.
Morris drove the Kia during the crash, with Smith sitting in the front seat and Gentry occupying the left-side passenger seat in the second row.
A man and four children under the age of 13 were also present in the car and sustained severe injuries, along with five others.
According to the initial report by KCPD, a Kia was traveling at a high speed in the eastbound direction on 35th Street when it collided with an SUV that was in the process of making a left turn.
Morris and Smith perished at the scene, while Gentry was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries the following day.
The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) has reported that the Kia was stopped by an officer before the accident occurred. However, as the officer got out of his vehicle, Morris fled the scene in the stolen car. It is important to note that the police did not pursue the vehicle.
