According to New Orleans police, a total of eight individuals were shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 1st. Among the victims were six women, with one of them tragically succumbing to her injuries.

A 29-year-old woman arrived at a hospital just before 2:45 a.m., seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The woman reported being shot in the 400 block of South Solomon Street in Mid-City, according to the NOPD. However, the circumstances surrounding her shooting were not disclosed.

The situation described in the supplemental report issued after 11 a.m. was much more chaotic.

In an attempt to flee the scene, the women got into their vehicle, but unfortunately, it crashed into a fire hydrant and overturned at the intersection of Baudin and South Solomon.

One woman was later declared dead at the hospital, according to the NOPD. The conditions of the other four women have not been disclosed, but the police stated that all had suffered gunshot wounds and no arrests have been made.

A few moments later, officers from the NOPD arrived at the scene of two additional individuals who had been shot in New Orleans East.

According to police, the woman tried to escape while the man she was with drove off in the car. The gunman, on the other hand, ran away from the scene. New Orleans EMS personnel swiftly transported the injured woman to the hospital for medical care. However, no information regarding her condition has been provided at this time.

According to the NOPD, officers responded to a call on Hayne Boulevard in the 10800 block, shortly after the previous incident. They discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound and immediately transported him to the hospital. The condition of the victim remains undisclosed.

The NOPD did not provide any details about the circumstances of this shooting. They also did not mention if there is any known suspect or motive.
