This recall is crucial because consuming these ice pops could lead to life-threatening reactions for certain individuals.
The popular icy dessert, available in Illinois and specifically in Chicago, is now subject to an urgent safety recall by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA was alerted to the situation when an allergen-sensitive consumer reported feeling discomfort after consuming the product. At present, the cause of the contamination of the ice bars is not yet known.
The Yummy Swirly Ices line is currently undergoing a recall. The boxes, which were available in Chicago, Illinois, had a distinct appearance, as shown in the image.
According to the FDA bulletin, the recall includes the complete range of ice pops, but the specific lines that are suspected of contamination are identified by their lot numbers – 68/2 and 69/1 – and expiration dates – 5/28/2026 and 5/30/2026).
According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, “anaphylactic shock – a life-threatening allergic response”—can b be a possible outcome of a milk allergy reaction.
