Today, Iowa is expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening, due to a weak front moving in from the north. While some of these storms may be strong, the main threats are gusty winds and frequent lightning. Residents should be aware of the possibility of heavy rainfall that could cause reduced visibility and ponding on roads.

The National Weather Service Quad Cities reports that areas north of Highway 30 have a higher probability of rain, ranging from 40-60%, while areas south have a lower chance at 20-30%. The average storm motion is predicted to move southeast at a speed of 25–30 MPH.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to persist until Wednesday with warm and humid weather conditions. Today, the temperature will reach 85°F and gradually cool down to 66°F tonight. Thunderstorms are expected to occur in the late afternoon and may continue into the night.

As we move towards the end of the week, the weather forecast looks promising, with a gradual increase in temperature.
