According to the latest forecast, Minnesota is likely to experience some storms that will gradually move to the southern region during the night. Although these storms are expected to weaken and fade away as they approach Iowa, some areas north of Highway 30 may witness scattered showers and a possible storm between 3 AM and 6 AM. Fortunately, any weather activity that may occur in eastern Iowa is predicted to subside shortly after daybreak on Sunday, and therefore, there won’t be any significant impact on the weekend plans. As for the temperatures, lows are expected to range between mid to upper 60s.
Warm, muggy, and calm on Sunday
Sunday’s weather forecast is expected to be quite similar to that of Saturday. The temperature will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s, with the possibility of some places reaching the mid 90s in the southernmost counties. It will remain humid, with dew points in the 70s, so it is advisable to plan for peak heat index values in the 90s if you plan on spending time outside. To avoid dehydration, wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of water, and have a way to cool off if you get too hot. The mostly sunny skies will make it even more uncomfortable and increase the risk of sunburn. Therefore, it is essential to plan accordingly and remember to put on your sunscreen.
