The officer patrolling the area near the carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park discovered the remains at 55 Water St. around 8:50 a.m. Sources have revealed that the discovered remains include a skull and bones found on the shore.
In a Citizen App video , NYPD officers can be seen engaging in conversations with individuals near the waterfront, while a section of the area is cordoned off with tape. Scuba divers are also seen conducting searches in the waters, possibly in search of additional remains.
The NYPD has not yet confirmed whether they have identified the remains.
