Three individuals were injured in a shooting that occurred within a gas station in Brighton Park on Tuesday evening, according to the Chicago police.
At approximately 10:08 p.m., the shooting took place in the 3400-block of South California Avenue.
According to the police, a group of four individuals was seen pursuing a 25-year-old man who sought refuge in a gas station. As the man dashed inside, two of the suspects relentlessly fired shots at him. Shockingly, one of the assailants even ventured inside the gas station and continued to unleash gunfire at the victim.
A 25-year-old man sustained injuries to his abdomen and both legs. He was immediately taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
According to the police, two gas station employees, a 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, were also injured in the incident.
A 26-year-old employee was critically injured after being shot in the mouth and was immediately taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital for treatment. Additionally, a 25-year-old employee was shot in the back but was in good condition and also transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital for medical attention.
Area One detectives are currently investigating the incident, and as of now, no one has been taken into custody.
