Two individuals sustained injuries in a shooting that occurred on Friday evening in Mount Prospect.

According to the Mount Prospect Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Chariot Court to investigate a firearms fired call shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered two individuals who had been shot. According to investigators, the victims were transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment of injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The men were in the parking lot of an apartment building when multiple suspects drove by in a white SUV and began firing at them, according to the police. The suspects subsequently drove the SUV away.

Officers could identify the SUV and share its information with local police departments by utilizing license plate recognition cameras in the vicinity. Mount Prospect officers subsequently discovered that the SUV had been located by another law enforcement agency, which apprehended three suspects inside the vehicle following a chase. Authorities also discovered two firearms within the SUV.
