Montgomery Fire/Rescue reported that a woman from the local area has been taken into custody and accused of intentionally starting fires at three different properties.
The fire department received a call about a structure fire at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The incident took place in the 5000 block of Missildine Circle. According to the department, the front room of the structure suffered only minor fire damage.
According to firefighters, the fire started while Ladona Missildine, the co-owner of the property, was inside.
According to the crews, she initially claimed that she was outside the structure when the fire began. However, upon conducting a thorough investigation, it was discovered that she deliberately started not only that fire but also fires at two other nearby structures.
During the fire, fire personnel reported sighting her inside one of the other structures.
Missildine faces three charges of second-degree arson, resulting in a total bail of $30,000 at the county jail.
The motive behind the setting of the fires remains unclear at this time.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
