A child who had been abducted in Louisiana has been safely located in Mississippi, according to authorities.
Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers stated that the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) informed his department about a potential custodial kidnapping from Louisiana.
According to Myers, a Ridgeland officer found a vehicle that matched the given description. Instead of pursuing a chase, the officer decided to wait for support from other units.
The vehicle was successfully stopped by the Ridgeland officers and Madison police, as confirmed by the police chief. Myers also reassured that the child is now safe.
