Update: At 6 a.m., Kansas City police entered the residence where they located and took a male into custody for questioning. The investigation is still ongoing.
During the night, a woman was shot in the 500 block of Booth, as reported by the Kansas City Police.
At 9:30 p.m., the residence was reported to the authorities. The police were summoned to the scene.
Upon their arrival, they conversed with a caller situated at the front of the house who relayed that a woman had been shot inside.
According to the caller, there might be a person of interest in the house who could be linked to the shooting incident.
The victim was successfully rescued from the house by the police. However, despite being rushed to the hospital, she passed away.
In order to ensure the safety of everyone involved and to proceed with their investigation, the police decided to call for an Operation 100. This involved bringing in more tactical officers to the scene to clear the home.
According to the latest reports, the individual of concern is believed to be the sole occupant of the residence. No other individuals are thought to be present inside the home.
