Over the weekend, authorities in La Porte County arrested a murder suspect from out of state.
State police have reported that they received information about a suspect who may be traveling on the Indiana Toll Road and is connected to the murder of a child in Ohio.
The suspected vehicle was spotted by a trooper, who proceeded to track it down. The trooper followed the vehicle closely as it approached the La Porte exit and eventually pulled over the vehicle near Westville.
Authorities in Ohio have taken Fernando Alejo, a 22-year-old, into custody, and he is currently being held in La Porte County Jail.
Authorities believe that a man from Ohio shot and killed a 17-year-old boy in an incident that happened east of Cleveland.
