When you visit Kwik Trip stores in the Midwest to purchase milk or bananas, be sure to observe your surroundings. You may have already noticed a significant transformation taking place at their stores in Minnesota, one store at a time. Considering that the change has been observed in Minnesota, it is highly likely that it’s happening in Kwik Trip’s home state of Wisconsin as well.
On a scorching hot day with humidity sapping the energy out of me, I made a quick stop at Kwik Trip to refuel my car. Being a considerate mom, I thought of treating my kids to some ice cream from the store. However, as soon as I entered, something caught my eye. The store had undergone some changes.
During my discussion with my family regarding the matter, they were convinced that I was referring to the self-checkout machines present in a few stores.
Upon reaching the cooler that housed the ice cream at Kwik Trip, the transformation was immediately apparent to me.
Recently, Kwik Trip has announced that it will be jumping on the digital shelf label trend, following in the footsteps of Walmart and Hy-Vee. Forbes.com previously reported that Walmart had plans to implement digital shelf labels in 2,300 stores by 2026, while Grocerydive.com revealed that Hy-Vee would be introducing them in 230 of its stores. With Kwik Trip’s decision to adopt this technology, it is clear that digital shelf labels are becoming increasingly popular in the retail industry.
