A grieving family is searching for answers in the wake of a tragedy that took the life of an Alabama State University student who was fatally stabbed to death near campus.
According to a report by 11 Alive, Tiana Dye, who was only 21 years old, passed away on July 14th. She was discovered with a stab wound in her chest, and this incident happened less than half a mile away from the campus of Alabama State University.
The authorities have yet to identify any suspects in the stabbing, and they are currently investigating the matter.
It has been reported that Dye had aspirations of becoming a dermatologist and was on the path to earning a degree in biochemistry. Graduation was within reach for Dye before the tragedy occurred.
Upon receiving the heartbreaking news of her daughter’s passing, Danielle Luckett, the mother of Dye, recounted the moment with great sadness.
According to 11 Alive, Luckett recounted the devastating news she received about her daughter’s death: “They informed me that my daughter had suffered a stab wound, and despite their efforts, they were unable to save her,” she recalled. “It was, and still is, the worst day of my life.”
As she looked at her daughter lying there, struggling to hold on to life, her heart shattered into a million pieces. The feeling of helplessness consumed her as she wished she could do something to save her child. The thought of never seeing her again was unbearable, leaving her lost and unable to imagine life without her.
According to Luckett, the security footage captured her daughter placing the knife on the porch and having a conversation with someone on the phone.
According to Luckett, the death of his daughter does not appear to be accidental or a matter of self-defense. He firmly believes that his daughter was intentionally murdered, and he is determined to take action to ensure that justice is served.
According to the GoFundMe page, a fundraiser has been set up to gather funds for the funeral arrangements. The page emphasizes that Dye was a remarkable student who was deeply committed to academic excellence and social justice. The hard work and dedication she put into her studies earned her a well-deserved spot on the Dean’s list.
