Laporte County: Indiana Court documents indicate that a mother from Northwest Indiana was charged with neglect following her toddler’s overdose on methamphetamine on Tuesday.
LaPorte police responded to the 300 block of Oberriech Street on Tuesday shortly after 11:30 p.m. in response to a report of an overdose.
Officers on the site were informed that the 18-month-old child of Lily Allen was at risk of overdosing on methamphetamine.
Authorities transported the child to Northwest Health. Before he arrived at the hospital, the child was vomiting, experiencing body tremors, and having irregular respiration.
Allen was taken to the LaPorte Police Department for questioning.
Officers apprehended her after she declared that she would require consultation with her attorney, citing sufficient probable cause for neglect of a dependent, according to court documents.
After being discharged for the overdose, the child was transferred to the Department of Child Services. Allen is scheduled to appear at his initial hearing on Friday.
