On July 18th, Governor Reynolds made an announcement that the opioid treatment and recovery providers of Iowa are now eligible to apply for grants worth $13 million.
In May, the governor’s office announced a $17.5 million investment to aid providers in addressing the rising demand for opioid-related treatment and catering to the additional needs of citizens. As a part of this investment, funding was also allocated for this purpose.
Governor Reynolds acknowledged the familiarity of the battle against substance use disorder for families caught in the grip of the opioid epidemic. She emphasized the significance of funding for projects that aid prevention, treatment, and recovery. This funding can provide addicted Iowans with a pathway to sobriety and a productive, fulfilling life.
The Iowa Opioid Treatment and Recovery Infrastructure Grant, worth $10 million, aims to support providers of opioid treatment and recovery by providing assistance in physical infrastructure and capacity building.
You can use grants to fund the construction of new treatment and recovery facilities, as well as to expand existing ones. Additionally, grants can also be used to rehabilitate existing structures.
You can now apply for the Iowa Opioid Treatment and Recovery Infrastructure Grant until September 30, 2024.
Eligible nonprofit organizations can now access a total of $3 million through the Iowa Recovery Housing Fund. The funding is exclusively dedicated to the development of sober recovery housing.
Starting July 29, 2021, individuals can apply for the Iowa Recovery Housing Fund. The application period will be open until October 31, 2024. For further details, including eligibility criteria, visit iowafinance.com/irhf.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority, the Iowa Finance Authority, and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services will administer the grants, which make use of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.
