Sources revealed that Chad Irish, aged 55, was charged with concealment of a human corpse, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing charges after being interrogated on Monday regarding the death of 31-year-old Yazmeen Williams.
No charges related to the killing of the 31-year-old victim have been brought against him for now.
According to sources, Irish has 21 prior criminal charges to his name and is currently on parole for a robbery and assault case in Bronx.
In 1994, he attempted to blow up his uncle’s residence in The Bronx by dislodging a gas pipe and two propane tanks, which caused an explosion. As a result, he was convicted of attempted arson and served three years in prison.
On Monday, after the police took the person of interest in for questioning regarding Williams’ death, he was confronted by a group of angry locals.
Nicole Williams, the victim’s grieving mother, was one of the individuals who encountered Irish as the police escorted him out of the Straus Houses, a NYCHA complex in Kips Bay, on a stretcher and transported him into an ambulance.
The chaotic footage captured at least one man throwing a punch at the Irish while others were heard screaming “kill him”.
Late Friday, Williams was discovered inside a sleeping bag that had been abandoned near a pile of garbage on East 27th Street in Manhattan.
Authorities have determined that her death was a homicide following confirmation on Monday that she suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
According to The Post, the victim’s mother previously disclosed that she suspected the perpetrator of being a friend of her daughter’s who uses a wheelchair.
Sources have reported that Irish came to the attention of the NYPD when he was spotted dragging a sleeping bag while sitting in an electric wheelchair.
