An internet vigilante group has released a video showing a Bronx prosecutor allegedly attempting to meet a young boy he had been communicating with online. The prosecutor has since resigned from his position following the incident.
After Dads Against Predators posted a video of him filmed in the parking lot of the Target on East Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon, William C.C. Kemp-Neal, 30, resigned from his position in the Bronx District Attorney’s office just four days later.
On July 8, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a group of video vigilantes approached a man named Kemp-Neal, questioning whether he was Marcus. As soon as Kemp-Neal, a recent graduate of Fordham Law in 2021, was asked the question, he immediately took off running.
As an ADA, Kemp-Neal primarily dealt with cases related to assault, harassment, and child endangerment. In this role, she earned a salary of $84,990.
As the pursuit begins, the men raise their voices in unison, shouting, “Hey, everyone, this guy here showed up to meet a 13-year-old boy!”
According to the footage, the pursuit came to an abrupt halt when a stranger stepped in and took control of Kemp-Neal by placing him in a chokehold.
As the interrogation proceeds, Kemp-Neal can be observed gasping for breath and attempting to wriggle free from his captor’s grasp.
One of the men turns to Marcus and asks, “You want to take him for a milkshake, Marcus?”
Kemp-Neal denied, “I didn’t.”
After the tumultuous situation, Mount Vernon Police arrived at the site and interrogated the individuals who were there.
Police officers did not make any arrests during the incident. However, they reported that they came across a group of individuals who made accusations of illegal activities. The police department released a statement assuring the public that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
No charges have been filed against Kemp-Neal for any criminal offense.
According to a statement from the office of DA Darcel Clark, William Kemp-Neal served as an ADA from June 28, 2020, until July 17, 2024. The statement reveals that Kemp-Neal resigned from the office during his tenure.
Attempts to reach Kemp-Neal for comment were unsuccessful.
