LULING, Louisiana– In the late evening hours of Tuesday, July 9, a man was discovered dead in the Mississippi River, floating beneath the Luling Bridge.
The individual, who has not been recognized despite being found without identification, was spotted by a tugboat captain working on the Mississippi River just before 7 p.m., according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. After successfully setting up on LA 18 close to Sugarhouse Road, SCPSO personnel were able to retrieve the man’s body.
The dead is reported to have been a Caucasian male in his 40s or 45s, standing around 6 feet tall, weighing between 310 and 350 pounds, and sporting short dark hair and a full beard.
There were no indications of a struggle, trauma, or foul play, according to detectives. Anyone with information that could help identify the individual should get in touch with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 985-783-1135, according to the SCPSO.
