Newark police are currently on the lookout for a man who is wanted for assaulting a woman and spitting in her face while they were on a bus.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé, the incident occurred on August 27 at around 1 p.m. The victim and the suspect engaged in a verbal argument while riding a New Jersey Transit bus in the vicinity of Broad Street and Branford Place.
During the verbal argument, the suspect allegedly spat in the woman’s face, leading to a physical altercation. According to FragĂ©, the suspect proceeded to punch the victim.
According to the police, the victim received medical attention for the injuries she sustained during the incident and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities are currently reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect. The suspect, who goes by the name Ge, is estimated to be around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He has a medium brown complexion and was last spotted wearing a blue shirt and blue sweatpants.
