The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified two men on Friday morning: one was shot and died near a junction in the West Lake Forest area, and the other was slain in an Algiers.
At 1:23 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a hit-and-run at the intersection of South Interstate 10 Service Road and Crowder Boulevard. Christopher Cooke, 42, was discovered deceased at the scene. Once they discovered that Cooke had received numerous gunshot wounds, the authorities ruled the killing to be a homicide.
The 38-year-old victim of a gunshot in Algiers’ Tall Timbers-Brechtel neighborhood was named as Reginald Ware on Wednesday morning. At 7:18 a.m., police went to a complaint in the 3700 block of Texas Drive. They discovered Ware, who was declared deceased on the spot. After an autopsy revealed a gunshot wound, Ware’s cause of death—which had previously been declared an unclassified death—was amended to homicide.
The police withheld further details.
