Officers in Noblesville, Indiana were led on a chase resulting in a crash and the arrest of two individuals, including a juvenile, following an armed carjacking on Monday afternoon.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the events leading up to the incident began with a report of an armed carjacking in Grant County. Following this, a police pursuit ensued along State Road 37 and eventually culminated in a collision at the intersection of State Road 32-37 in Noblesville.
The individuals exited the car and proceeded to escape on foot.
According to News 8’s sources on-site, law enforcement officials apprehended one suspect, who was a juvenile, in the parking lot of a Hardee’s restaurant. Meanwhile, the second suspect attempted to escape by running behind the Hamilton East Public Library. However, they were later caught after seeking refuge inside the building.
Officers will conduct an “evidentiary sweep” of the library building, resulting in its closure until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department’s public information officer, Bryan Melton, expressed disappointment when questioned regarding the participation of a minor in this crime.
