According to a spokesperson from the Indiana State Police, the perpetrator accused of murdering a 17-year-old has been arrested in Indiana. The suspect, originally from Ohio, reportedly shot and killed the victim.
Indiana State Police received a notification from Ohio authorities on Saturday, informing them that the suspect they had been searching for could potentially be traveling on the Indiana Toll Road.
At approximately 9:57 a.m., a trooper in LaPorte County reported spotting a vehicle matching the given description, according to a spokesperson.
The trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle and immediately confirmed that it was the one they had been searching for. Then, without any delay, the trooper requested backup to help in the chase.
Authorities stopped the driver near the 38-mile marker of the Indiana Toll Road, as stated by the spokesperson.
A 22-year-old male from Painesville, Ohio has been arrested and taken into custody by LaPorte County Jail.
The Willoughby Police Department in northeastern Ohio is presently investigating the fatal shooting and is expected to reveal the identity of the suspect soon. The suspect is also expected to be arraigned shortly.
