A United Airlines flight that departed from South Florida had to make an emergency landing at Miami International Airport. This was due to a passenger who bit a flight attendant and hurled profanity at other passengers.
On Tuesday, United Flight 762 departed from Miami International Airport and was en route to Newark, New Jersey.
A video captured on a cellphone by TMZ depicts a tense scenario where a woman was shouting at fellow passengers. The flight attendants attempted to defuse the situation and resorted to using zip-ties to restrain the woman.
As the incident escalated, the flight attendant became the victim of a vicious bite on his shoulder, causing a tear in his uniform.
The woman directed an obscene phrase towards a fellow passenger.
As captured in a cellphone video, the woman was being restrained by others, yet she persisted in shouting profanities at fellow passengers and even went as far as threatening to end the life of a woman, telling her to “Go back to Russia, old lady.”
As the flight crew attempted to restrain her, the woman exclaimed, “Let go of me! I’m a girl, damn it! Are you trying to kill me?” in a heated outburst.
The woman persisted in verbally attacking the passengers and asserted that the flight crew had “attitude problems.”
Upon encountering an unforeseen circumstance, the flight had to execute an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, authorities were present at the gate.
Authorities removed the woman from the flight and replaced the flight crew with a new one.
The flight was delayed for three and a half hours due to the emergency landing.
The woman was escorted out of the airport by the police.
Passengers were captured on cellphone video clapping as the woman was removed from the plane.
After the incident, United Airlines issued a statement to 7News, which reads as follows:
