The gas-powered scooter rider who was hit and killed by a pickup in Elizabeth on Monday has been identified by authorities.
At 3:12 a.m., a northbound pickup struck 34-year-old Jose German-Munoz of Elizabeth as he was crossing Spring Street (Routes 1 & 9) at Fairmount Avenue.
The pickup driver stopped and is cooperating with the police. As of Wednesday, no summonses have been issued as the investigation is still ongoing.
