The NYPD continues its search for the three teenage boys for his involvement in the stabbing of a 13-year-old girl outside the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center subway station on Sunday night. This incident adds to the growing concerns about safety in and around subway stations.
According to officers, the incident at the station started with a dispute between the suspects and the victim just before 8 p.m. on Sunday. The altercation quickly escalated, resulting in the stabbing of a 13-year-old girl. Fortunately, authorities confirm that the girl is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspects are still on the run. Additional video footage depicts them jumping over the turnstiles in the subway system during the night of the crime. The police have yet to confirm if the teenagers were armed during the recorded incident or specify the exact station where it took place.
According to the police, the teenagers were spotted fleeing on Atlantic Avenue.
Metal detectors were recently introduced at select subway stations. However, it is worth noting that no metal detectors were observed at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station this morning.
