Clay County deputies have made a significant discovery in their ongoing investigation, uncovering additional explosive devices. This comes after the arrest of three individuals earlier this month.
Cory Young, Erika Lahr, and Tammie Bindel Cole were apprehended by officers for the discovery of substantial quantities of illegal explosives and drugs.
During the search of a residence near North Hickory Street and Northwest 64th Terrace, law enforcement officials discovered several illicit items, including pipe bombs and grenades.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has recently discovered a storage unit that they claim Young rented using a relative’s name.
During the search, law enforcement officers discovered an additional 33 homemade hand grenades, as well as 19 firearms and 32 cases of ammunition inside the unit.
In addition to the significant discovery of illegal explosives and drugs in the home on August 2, there was also a large amount seized.
Young, who is 46 years old, is facing charges of delivering a controlled substance, possessing a firearm unlawfully, and endangering a child.
Lahr, who is 32 years old, is facing charges of delivering a controlled substance, unlawfully using a weapon, and endangering a child.
Cole, who is 52 years old, is currently facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
