The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning on their Facebook page at approximately 6:45 a.m., informing residents that all roads were experiencing flooding and urging them to avoid travel. The City of Emporia also announced the closure of the municipal court for Tuesday.
In Sedgwick County, a warning for areal flooding was issued as the storm passed through, but it has since expired. Wichita experienced a rainfall of 1.23 inches, the highest since June 19 when the city received 1.33 inches.
