A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in Uptown last week, and the New Orleans Police Department has arrested him in connection with the incident.
An incident of gunfire occurred at Evans Playground, which is situated on Soniat Street.
NOPD announced on Wednesday that Yuan N. Buggage of Chalmette has been apprehended in connection with the shooting.
Police responded to the incident at approximately 5:28 p.m. on July 29.
Tyvien Jirouard, a 15-year-old student at Sophie B. Wright, was fatally shot and subsequently perished at a local hospital.
Additionally, a 25-year-old individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of firearm wounds.
Baggage was identified as a suspect by the NOPD, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
