According to the Millbrook police, a couple is being charged with chemical endangerment of a child as their three-year-old daughter tested positive for drugs.
According to Police Chief P.K. Johnson, the Elmore County Department of Human Resources alerted his office about a child endangerment case. The detectives were informed that a Millbrook couple, identified as 29-year-old Hollie Moen and 31-year-old Mitchell L. Harrison, had tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana during a DHR investigation.
According to Johnson, their 3-year-old daughter also tested positive for methamphetamine, marijuana, and amphetamine, as reported by DHR.
On Thursday, Johnson reported that Moen and Harrison were apprehended and transported to the Elmore County Jail. They were detained under a bond of $15,000.
Johnson stated that due to the involvement of a minor child, there are limitations on what can be commented on. However, he did mention that the child has been taken out of the custody of the parents by DHR officials and is now under the temporary care and custody of a responsible family member until further arrangements are made.
“If you come across any similar situations where a child is at risk, we urge you to report it to the appropriate authorities, whether it’s law enforcement or the Department of Human Resources. It is crucial to address such incidents to ensure the safety and well-being of those who are unable to protect themselves.”
